130th Alexandra Annual Spring Show

9th-10th November 2013

Featuring in 2013...

The Alexandra Show is celebrating it's 130th Anniversary in 2013! Where many other small shows have folded in recent years, the Alexandra Show ploughs on...and we're planning on celebrating it! Not only will we extend our show into the Sunday we are hosting a community bush dance on the Saturday night. Prizes will be awarded to the most enthusiastic dancers and those deemed best dressed on the night. Food and beverages will be available on the night to keep dancers refreshed and able to keep up with the 5 piece band, "Couchgrass". Dances will be called - so no excuses for not knowing the moves.... look forward to seeing you all there!

The "Guns of Alexandra" will once again be on cue to demonstrate the dying art of shearing. With four restored mobile shearing plants, ten shearers will be on display to show off their speed on these machines and using blade shearers. Rousies will be in the background throwing and skirting fleeces and of course the "Guns" front man, Jim Young, will be on deck to call the show! The Old Time Shearers Jamboree will take place on Saturday 9th November.
Sunday the 10th of November is a very kid friendly day - a gymkhana will offer the chance to exhibit your pony or horse in a more relaxed setting with fun classes. See the Schedule and Forms page for a gymkhana program.

An alpaca handling workshop will take place under the Alpaca Marquee where kids can learn the ins and outs of alpacas, handling and showmanship. This will be free for all kids - the more the merrier!
